* This trip with a guide: he can show you more paths, sacred places, explain about

1. From the plaza, walk up the Cuenca street, passing the church.
2. Walk up the stairs at your right side when you see the sign pointing to the Uchumachi.
3. Back on the road, take the path on the other side.
4. When you reach the Calvario, take a path going up at the right side of the chapel. As
e general rule: when in doubt what path to take, take the one to the right.
5. After about half an hour of walking up grasslands, you will reach the first forest. When
you leave the first forest, you will see the sign “Chutokollo Uchumachi”. Your now at
2112 meters above sealevel.
6. Another half an hour of walking through grasslands brings you to the second forest.
7. About 45 minutes later, you’ll reach the summit (2480 m.a.s.l.). Take your time to
walk around in the forest behind the summit, but don’t get lost. Keep your eyes open for
orchids and other plants and animals. You don’t have a view all around you.
8. All in all, reaching the summit can be done in an hour and a half, up to three hours.
Going back goes a lot quicker, but take care, especially on rainy days. You can reach
town in little over an hour.
